When I read that Chris Brogan was re-thinking his approach somewhat – as he says ‘Redrawing‘ – I wondered, like many of his loyal readers, where he was going with the ‘conversation’. I read, I pondered, and I had this to say:
Chris. When I saw your update and started reading it I was semi expecting a plug for New Marketing Labs or Third Tribe but I was pleasantly surprised that you were/are genuinely addressing (and being totally open about) the overwhelming task of maintaining online relationships and having a re-think about how to reach as many people as possible – positively.
We all have to address the ‘balance’ occasionally and hopefully many will learn from seeing even the great CB having to ‘redraw’ some lines and re-balance things a little.
If you want my honest, honest, honest opinion – which I’m sure you do – I have often thought that many of the ‘super-star’ bloggers and web-celebs do get a bit lost in the popularity and simply cannot cope with the demands placed on them and that, ultimately, prevents them (ie: You) from being the person they (ie: You) set out to be…. See more
I hope you find the perfect balance that enables you to continue doing the work you do. No point writing a great book about ‘being real, personable and social) if you don’t have the time to do it yourself.
Keep up the good work Chris. Many many people have learnt much from your ‘leadership’ and many will continue to do so but it’s important – for all of us – to remain ‘accessible’ no matter how busy we are or become.
