Some companies need to learn how to talk to their customers better. I think what this message should have said (and I know I’m thinking “old school” here) is:
We thank you for being a loyal and long standing user of the Skype service and we notice your account is always in credit and has been remained so since you started your Skype account some years ago.

We also notice you are in credit and by the looks of your Skype usage, the credit on your account will last you for quite some time. So, take this as a gentle reminder that the credit or debit card you have on file will soon expire. No rush. Just thought we should let you know.
I think that would have been more appreciated than the “Action required! Do this NOW or else!!!” type of message they send out.
Imagine walking into a shop and the person behind the counter SHOUTING AT YOU in the way messages like this come across? I think you’d have the same thought as I had had when I opened it…
Well thank YOU for clearly not appreciating my loyalty and my money over the years now sod off and take a leap…
