Strange as people can be I was actually very surprised what happened this morning / over night on Twitter. I was unfollowed. Ooch Ouch. No big deal right. Well, actually, yeah – no big deal. But this was odd.
Why oh why do these scam-artists keep doing it? I am really starting to dislike (I mean hate) Twitter. Scam, BS, Con, Trick, Spam… Is that all there is to it?
So what if I clickety clicked on ‘Follow’ or I became a ‘Fan’ or even if I gave you my darn email address so I could get your RSS in my spam box every week – I’m not even slightly interested in whatever it is you’re selling.
Do you look at your lists of followers on Twitter or Fans on Facebook and wonder why people ‘unfollowed’ you? Do you care? Should you care? Well, I think you should care because it tells you something about you and your efforts – you can learn from it.
Are you being “Human” in your social media activities? Demonstrating your personality? Letting people ‘in’? If you’re connecting with people on social platforms and want them to connect with you – and your content

Do you have a process in place to build, manage and maintain the growth of your activities on the social platforms? Do you have a clear objective? What do you aim to achieve and what are you going to contribute to the ‘community’ you will become part of via the social networks?
I saw this photo and the thought that instantly came to my mind was “Timing is Everything”… A fraction of a second too early or too late and the opportunity is missed.
I’m sure you are already aware that the two amazing tools ‘Seesmic‘ and ‘Ping.FM‘ have merged last year and now, combined, provide pretty much all the cross posting you will ever need (well, until 50 more platforms jump on the bandwagon)…
